Two people sit at a table reviewing printed documents and booklets. One person is reading an open booklet while various colourful reports and papers are spread across the dark tabletop.

The Australian Nursing & Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) is seeking a strategic, future-focused Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth and sector influence. This is a critical leadership role for someone who can anticipate sector trends, drive innovation, and build trusted relationships across a diverse stakeholder landscape.

As Australia’s independent accreditation authority for nursing and midwifery, ANMAC plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the quality of education and practice and supporting safe, high-quality healthcare for all Australians. With a strong financial position, collaborative culture and clear mandate for sector leadership, ANMAC is positioned for meaningful transformation and impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Champion and deliver ANMAC’s long-term strategy, ensuring alignment with sector transformation and emerging workforce needs
  • Strengthen governance and organisational capability to support future growth
  • Represent ANMAC at the highest levels, building trust and influence with government, regulators, education providers, members and sector partners.
  • Foster a high-performing executive team and a positive, future-ready organisational culture.

We are seeking an exceptional leader with vision, strategic insight and the capability to drive transformation in a complex, regulated environment. Strong stakeholder management, commercial acumen and governance experience are essential; a health sector background is highly regarded.

If you are committed to advancing Australia’s health workforce and driving meaningful sector impact, we invite you to apply.

Applications close 18 January 2026.
