ANMAC welcomes new ACN president

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) extends its congratulations to Group Captain Kath Stein FACN GAICD on her recent appointment as President of the Australian College of Nursing (ACN).

Group Captain Stein brings more than 30 years of experience in the Royal Australian Air Force and currently serves as Director of National Operations at the Department of Defence. Her leadership in clinical governance, policy, and operational healthcare delivery spans across multiple jurisdictions and healthcare settings, including remote and regional Australia.

Her appointment marks an exciting chapter for the nursing profession as it continues to evolve to meet growing and complex healthcare demands.

As a valued member organisation, ACN contributes important insights that support ANMAC’s work in nursing education, accreditation, and skilled migration, helping to ensure a safe and competent nursing workforce for Australia.

We look forward to continuing our strong collaboration with ACN under Group Captain Stein’s leadership.
ANMAC also acknowledges and thanks Adjunct Professor David Plunkett FACN for his contribution as ACN President from August 2023 to July 2025. His leadership during a time of reform and advocacy is sincerely appreciated.
