ANMAC Welcomes New Board Director Elizabeth Grinston

We are pleased to welcome Elizabeth Grinston to the ANMAC Board. As a highly accomplished legal professional with a distinguished career spanning private practice, government, and the not-for-profit sector, Elizabeth brings deep expertise in governance, regulation, and service delivery across a range of complex industries.

Elizabeth is a commercial and litigation lawyer with extensive experience in Executive, Board, and Committee roles. Her career includes senior positions at Herbert Smith Freehills and Gilbert + Tobin, as well as appointments to Federal and State Tribunals. She has served as General Counsel across multiple Commonwealth corporate entities, where she gained a deep understanding of governance, performance, and accountability frameworks.

Elizabeth’s expertise spans medical research, higher education, disability services, aviation, and financial services. As former General Counsel at the University of New South Wales, she developed specialist knowledge in medical and allied health education, accreditation, and academic governance.

Elizabeth currently serves as a Senior Member of the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal and holds non-executive roles with OXFAM Australia, Black Dog Institute, and Woodville Alliance. She is also a member of the Human Research Ethics Committee at Family Planning Australia.
