On 23rd October, we were delighted to attend the launch of Midwifery Futures: Building the Australian Midwifery Workforce by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). This pivotal report, led by the Burnet Institute, outlines over 30 recommendations to tackle the midwifery workforce challenges, grow our workforce, and support the people midwives care for.

At ANMAC, we wholeheartedly welcome this report as it aligns with our commitment to safeguarding the health and safety of Australian communities by ensuring a strong, flexible, and culturally competent midwifery workforce.

We look forward to working together with the NMBA, midwives, educators, and all healthcare partners to support these recommendations and secure the future of midwifery in Australia.
