Midwife

For registered midwives with current registration to practice.

Assessment Requirements

ANMAC uses 5 criteria to determine suitability for migration to Australia:

Criteria 1 - Proof of identity
The applicant is able to establish that they are the person that the skills assessment will be carried out on.

Criteria 2 - English language proficiency
The applicant can demonstrate achievement of the required score in the IELTS Academic, OET for Nurses, PTE Academic or TOEFL iBT.

Criteria 3 - Educational equivalence
The applicant is assessed as meeting current Australian nursing and midwifery educational standards.

Criteria 4 - Professional practise
The applicant has practised as a nurse or midwife in the 5 years preceding their application dates.

Criteria 5 - Fitness to practice
The applicant can demonstrate that they are fit to practice without restrictions.

I am a recently graduated international student, newly registered in Australia or New Zealand.

You must submit evidence to meet criteria 1, 3 and 5

You meet criteria 2

Criteria 4 does not apply to you

I am already registered as a midwife in Australia and/or New Zealand.

You must submit evidence to meet criteria 1, 3, 4 and 5

You meet criteria 2

I am a registered midwife from a country other than Australia.

You must submit evidence to meet all five criteria
